Synergy in Perfume Creation

In perfumery, synergy is the moment when two or more essences combine to create something greater than the sum of their parts — a new, unexpected beauty that neither could achieve alone.
In this workshop, we explore that magic.

Through guided smelling, discussion, and hands-on blending, we’ll study how fragrance families interact — how a floral becomes luminous with citrus, how a resin glows beside spice, how woods can cradle sweetness or smoke. You’ll learn to recognize synergistic relationships between materials and how to amplify them in your own compositions.

We’ll experiment with synergistic accords, uncovering the transformations that occur when essences are paired thoughtfully — by contrast, complement, or resonance. Then, guided by Amy, you’ll create your own synergistic perfume: a scent that feels alive with movement, tension, and unity.
